Bums - my fault, fileplanet removed it and I forgot to re-instate it.
Why isn't everyone using GWML now? It's far better and 100% trustworthy.
If I get enough responses, I'll re-host gwx2 - but I seriously think you lot should give GWML a try.

hmm...been using gwx2 for over a year and mattys for 3 months or so, now cant get them to work after this update. Did the usual things after an update and nothing works, just get one window. Even went to v2.0 on mattys from 1.99 to see if that worked. My computer screwed up or anyone else having problems?
edit...ok, got gwx2 to work by taking an old gw.exe file from another computer and copying that to the first folder and starting the whole process over. Gotta remember to make a .bak of the good gw.exe file before updating next time. Strange cuz the old gw.exe would work by itself fine, but would not work in gwx2 which makes zero sense to me. However, even though that problem is solved, Mattys still doesnt work.
edit #2... went to bed, woke up, changed nothing, Mattys is working again. I hate computers...

Well, in the meanwhile I did install it and it looks nice, especially that I don't even have to lower details or anything to get over 100FPS on both windows ;p

MGWL is hidden away in Community Works - http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10373154
The beauty of it for me is that you can create shortcuts with it. This way, you can start up any of your additional accounts whenever you like - you don't have to decide at startup which ones to run.

Yeah, I've been running GWMML and it's awesome. Not sure how it is compared to GWx2, but I'm happy with it right now ;p

Why do I still use GWx2? Because on my system GWML does not work. Actually on the three computer systems I have tried it on it has consistantly failed to work.
GWx2 works and I only need to use it once, right after an update. After that I can launch any or all of the two accounts Installed on my system, or even both of the accounts on my wifes system from my system. GWML does not do that, or at least I have never been able to make it work.

It's all a matter of choice I suppose, KZaske - but I will say this:
When you run GWML, you are given the option of making a desktop shortcut of every GW client on your system. That way, you can start any one of your clients individually and start any of the others at any time.
One possible reason that you can't get GWML to work is that you have already used gwx2 - and that makes changes to gw.exe that stops it from running via GWML. You need a totally fresh gw.exe to use it.
But hey, if gwx2 does the job for you, then great! I'm certainly not going to argue about it

I suspected that gwx2 made modifications, but was unsure where it did it. GWML has worked well for a lot of people, the ability to generate shortcuts is a nice feature that most people would like.
For me and my wife, we each have two accounts (each has a seperate installation directory). For our personal accounts we have 1 shortcut that will launch our primary toon on install 1 and another for install 2. We then have shortcuts that will launch the others personal accounts on any specific install. In total 8 shortcuts, each specifing one of the four accounts to lunch using a specific install location.
Using GWx2, I only need to run each install once and everything works. When I tried GWML, it didn't. Can it do that? The help files did not cover that situation very well.

8 shortcuts? I'm not quite sure I understand that.
You have four accounts, therefore four separate GW folders - I can't see why you'd need more than four shortcuts (but I'm probably not quite grasping your situation.)
The shortcuts that GWML make simply point to a specific gw.exe in a specific folder and launch it (with any combination of command line arguments, like the oh-so-useful -password for starters.) There's also a basic integration with texmod - very basic, but at least it launches it!
Back to your situation - GWML shortcuts could launch gw.exe #1 and log into account #1, gw.exe#2 for account#2 and so on. I can't for the life of me see why you'd need to (for example) load gw.exe#1 logged into account#2. Am I missing something esoteric that you're doing?

Latest version. I downloaded from the author's site and scanned with Avira AntiVir. It's the same version I'm running on my system. Use at your own risk, blah, blah. Don't take my word for it; scan it with whatever tools you wish. Block its network access with your firewall. Enjoy.
The August 6 update borked my gw.exe when I tried to launch it normally. It instead launched the copied gw.exe from my copied Guild Wars directory. It made TexMod use impossible as well. The "clear mutex" option or either of the shortcuts I created with GWML resolved that issue. I do not know if GWx2 users will encounter this error. I sent an email to Support informing them of the issue with the changed client behavior, but they simply thanked me for informing them and replied that multiple clients aren't supported anyhow.
It's a little strange that a thread titled, "The Guide for GWx2" has no working link to the software in a thread explaining its use.

Thanks, MisterB - as I said previously, I did have a version uploaded to a file sharing site, but it lapsed. I didn't see the need to re-upload it due to the advent of superior software, but as so many of you are craving for retro-software, I've updated the OP.

Now you are trying to confuse me.
We have four accounts between us (My wife and I) on two different computers. Each computer has two instalations (two folders). I need to be able to run any specific account (4) on any install (2), that is why eight shortcuts. Each shortcut provides the email, password and other needed (desired) parameters for each install. All in all, a very simple and easy to use system.
As for "Texmod" I tried it once, when it first came out it crashed XP 64 so hard that I had to restart the computer, I have not tired it again. Until it offically supports XP 64, that will not change.

Oh - two computers - I missed that bit! (But duh - it should have been obvious ><)
XP64 eh? I think I can safely say that anything that doesn't support XP64 now, never will. You're obviously content with it, so I won't repeat how bad it is or how buggy its drivers - you've probably heard it all a thousand times already.

LOL - The only buggy drivers I have had to deal with were from Foxcomm. We could not play guild wars more than about twelve hours on the 32bit version of XP, with the 64bit version we have had it up and running non-stop for over 15 days with no issues what-so-ever.
Yeah, too bad Microsoft changed the driver sub-system with Vista. Most of the XP64 drivers work like a champ, now most Vista drivers are designed for 32bit and work with 64bit without actually being 64bit. I can safely say that it was a huge step backwards. The only thing I really want is DirectX 10 & 11. Gigabyte actually released the DirectX 10 kit for XP 64bit, but Microsoft shut that down.

Avoid gwx2
Cautionary tale here. Got GWX2 so I could transfer stuff between my 2 accounts earlier this year. Took a couple weeks off of the title grind recently and when I came back about 200k gold was missing, my ranger's obsidian armor was gone, and my LDOA character was in post-searing at level 15.
Needless to say I was pretty mad today.
